We love eating curries in our home and never seem to have enough Naan Bread. So I decided to make my own authentic style flat bread. This is quick and easy and is ideal for dipping into your favourite Indian or Middle Eastern meal.
Ingredients:
1 Tsp Dry Yeast
2 Tsp sugar
3/4 cup warm water
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 Tsp salt
1/4 cup veg oil
3 Tblsp plain yoghurt
Method:
Mix yeast, sugar and water in a cup and set aside for 5-10 mins.
Combine all other ingredients in a mixing bowl and then add yeast water mix. Knead for 5-10 mins until dough forms. (At this point you can add chopped herbs, grains or dried fruit)
Cover bowl and set aside for about an hour in a warm place. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Divide dough into 10 -12 pieces and roll out onto floured surface.
Place on trays lined with baking paper and cook in oven for 8 mins or until lightly browned and puffed up.
